Moonstruck!

The other night I cycled home after a business meeting and saw this huge full moon in between the houses of suburbia. It was already too bright to photograph it, but I was sure that it would come back the next night. So I prepared my photo bag and went cruising for a good location.

Adobe Camera Raw now reads my .RAF raw files! Hurray!

Here I am, only weeks into buying the Fuji Xt1, and all of a sudden my Adobe Camera Raw software can read the raw-files it produces with extension .RAF... Ooh what? That is wonderful! Maybe my software was updated in the background, but I am not aware making any changes. This means I can work a lot faster, not having to convert using Lightroom but just jumping straight in with the Camera Raw editor! And think about the space I will be saving on my hard disks as well! Yey!! Mehappy!

A festival of colours

When I still worked with analog film, Fuji was my go-to film brand. It turns out that now that we have entered the digital world, Fuji is still very good at capturing all colours of the rainbow in bright and lively shades. I took my photogroup to Graffiti Alley in Toronto the other day. And I am very happy with the results that were, again, sometimes surprising.

Fuji and long exposure shots

I have been doggedly plodding on with the Fuji in the past two weeks and my focus has been on long exposure and spontaneous street captures. All of this to find out what I can get away with, where the limits are. I also talked to a guy at Fuji's about operating the camera via remote control.

It turns out that the Fuji cannot be used with Pocket Wizard devices (TTL1 and TTL5). At least not those I bought for my Canon gear years ago. It is a bit of a disappointment. Apparently the Nikon varietie...
